U četvrtak, 4. rujna u 20.30 sati u HUiU galeriji otvarila se izložba MakroSafari – izložba makrofotografija Kristiana Medaka. Ova izložba otvara vrata u fascinantan svijet kukaca i drugih sitnih člankonožaca – bića koja, iako malena, igraju ogromnu ulogu u očuvanju našeg planeta. Kroz objektiv Kristiana Medaka otkrit ćete složenost njihovih oblika, raskoš boja i važnost njihove prisutnosti! Fotografije otkrivaju detalje koje ljudsko oko inače ne primjećuje, spajajući umjetničku viziju i znanstvenu vrijednost. Posjetitelji će imati priliku ne samo uživati u estetskoj ljepoti prikaza, već i čuti koliko su ova mala bića ključna za održavanje prirodne ravnoteže.Dođite i otkrijte svijet koji niste znali da postoji!

On Thursday, September 4 at 20:30, the exhibition MakroSafari – a macro photography exhibition by Kristian Medak opened at HUiU Gallery. This exhibition opens the door to the fascinating world of insects and other small arthropods—creatures that, although tiny, play an enormous role in preserving our planet. Through the lens of Kristian Medak, visitors can discover the complexity of their forms, the richness of their colours, and the importance of their presence. The photographs reveal details that the human eye would otherwise overlook, combining artistic vision with scientific value. Visitors have the opportunity not only to enjoy the aesthetic beauty of these images, but also to learn how crucial these small creatures are for maintaining the balance of nature. Come and discover a world you didn’t know existed!
About the author: Kristian Medak, Mag. oecol. et prot. nat., is a specialist in the field of natural sciences, with a particular focus on biodiversity conservation and reducing negative impacts on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. He gained professional experience at the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science, where he participated in the development of monitoring programmes for species and habitat types of interest to the European Union, with a special focus on beetle research (Carabus variolosus nodulosus). Afterwards, he worked as a beetle research specialist at the company Geonatura d.o.o., and since 2023 he has been employed at the IGH Institute as an associate responsible for project management, studies, and technical reports. In addition, he has participated in field research for scientific projects of the Croatian Science Foundation (DinDry) as well as the European project Memorie, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science.
